A virtual content server and method are provided for virtual content providers to provide multiple items of their virtual to users as part of an ordered virtual content campaign. A pro vider may define the order for the presentation of the content items. Such as a linear sequence or based on a particular logic, e.g., a state transition graph or matrix, and Such order infor mation is stored in a campaign database. The server stores information regarding the state of the campaign for a particu lar user, e.g., how many or which ones of the content items of the ordered campaign have been presented to the user. Addi tionally, the provider may define certain performable actions with respect to particular states or content items.
